Meet the Republic – GeorgeMeet the Republic
To kick off this first 2018 edition of Meet the Republic, I am thrilled to introduce George to you all and officially announce his recent promotion as the new General Manager of our Brickell store!
George has worn a few hats at Raw Republic, first starting off as a cook when our kitchen was still in the back of our NMB store, then beginning his managerial experience as NMB’s Assistant Manager, which has now led him to bring his expertise over to our newest location in South Florida.
Throughout my time with Raw, I have had the great honor to work beside many of its amazing employees and George was definitely one of those. During the many shifts we worked together at NMB (before I left to fulfill my role as our Marketing Manager), I was able to gather that this young man would be willing to do whatever it took to learn about the business. He has always shown up fully, which has undeniably supported his growth within our company.
He is easy-going by nature, resourceful, and trustworthy. All key traits that comprise a solid GM! Congrats George, I hope you that you always continue to thrive and although I personally want to thank you for your dedication to Raw, I’m sure that our entire management team would stand by me in be saying the same.
What are some of your long-term goals?
“In life, I definitely want to grow and expand! I want to create income streams through things that I can invest in which will make me 5-10x profit of what I put in. I love working with numbers so I am finishing up my GED so I can go to college for accounting. If accounting doesn’t work out for whatever reason, I would go into real estate. I am really good with interior/exterior landscaping for houses. Also, in regards to nutrition, I would love to be a gym fanatic by being completely fit. It would be great to even help train others in the future as well.”
I was thinking back to when we would work together and you would mention the idea of opening an after-school care facility with your girlfriend. Is this still a part of your big vision?
“Definitely! My girlfriend is about to receive her Associate’s degree and we could collaborate our efforts in making this rec room a reality.
I want to see younger generations prosper and let go of the negativity. I want to help support them by showing them how to eat healthily and have a safe place to be. It would act as a functioning day-care even so parents can drop their kids off at a place where we would teach them, play games, etc.”
How do you see the work you are doing with Raw now supporting this bigger vision?
“I think it would tie in perfectly. If I want people to help people eat healthier and learn about wellness this gives me that background to know about it all.
Plus, this also gives me time and experience in leadership roles! Being that I’ve been able to work in many of Raw’s stores, I’ve learned a lot about how to upkeep and manage a store to be at its best.”
What would you say is the most worthwhile goal a person can dedicate themselves to?
“To stay healthy. No matter how much money you have or how many people that love you, if you don’t have your health, to an extreme, someone can literally pull the plug on you and that’s the end of it. “
Who is someone you would say is living their life to the fullest?
“Can I include myself? I would probably be one those people who are living their life to the fullest.
I am trying to do everything and anything I can to be happy with where I am in life. I may not be touring the world or doing anything big, but I am taking care of improving my health (big thanks to Raw for all of the nutritional support in this area!) + my girlfriend and I are doing really well and cultivating an amazing bond. I also have great relationships at work and appreciate my boss Jesse.”
I love that! Is there anyone that has been inspiring to you?
“Shmu! If I had anyone that I looked up to and wanted to emulate, it would be him. Shmu is clean, always on top of things, and when he walks into a room he fills it with his great energy.”
Do you prefer to spend time with your significant other, your family, or your friends and why?
“My significant other is technically my family, and my friends are as well so I would have to say, my family. If you’re not family then you’re just an acquaintance!”
What does honor mean to you and how important is that to you?
“Honor is respect and trust put together. If someone cannot respect you or trust you, they don’t honor you. It means everything to me because if you lose your honor your word doesn’t mean anything to me. I want to see results, not excuses.”
If you had to sum up the whole human species in 3 words what would they be?
“United, chaos, and ignorance.
We are all different, but we are together. People aren’t stupid, but we all carry different opinions based on where we come from. When you put everyone together in one room, there’s your chaos.”
